Park Hyatt Toronto

Park Hyatt Toronto

While at Hyatt Corporation, Thomas Riegelman was chosen to lead the redevelopment of a small, run-down boutique hotel and adjacent office tower into the Park Hyatt Toronto. The project required joining the historic hotel building with the office tower through a unifying podium containing the new front desk and lobby, restaurant, and function space. The previously unused basement space beneath the hotel building was transformed into the free-standing Stillwater Spa, which is recognized as one of the best spas in Toronto.

Tom assembled the project team, and directed planning, design, construction, purchasing, and installation.

The project was completed on time and in budget with 291 Guestrooms, 45 Suites, 17,000 sq. ft. of function space, two restaurants, and a classic rooftop hotel bar. The Stillwater Spa includes 17 treatment rooms, with a couple’s massage room, aqua therapy room, steam room, sauna, whirlpool, and a tea lounge for relaxing before and after treatments. There is also a fitness center available to both hotel and Spa guests.

The development has been a significant financial success for both Hyatt and the hotel’s owners.
