Hyatt Resorts Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico

Hyatt encountered some regulatory issues during the development of the Hacienda del Mar Hyatt Vacations property at the 3,200 acre Hyatt Resorts Puerto Rico complex, in Dorado Beach, Puerto Rico.

The problematic $6.6M infrastructure project was reassigned to Thomas Riegelman, based on his experience and past success working collaboratively with Federal and local regulatory agencies. Working with the EPA, Puerto Rico’s Environmental Agency (PREPA), local legal representation, and several consulting Engineering firms, Tom was able to develop a solution that satisfied the EPA and PREPA requirements, and enabled the development to proceed.

Tom’s team succeeded in developing a solution that was cost effective, environmentally sensitive, and contributed to a strong collaborative relationship with the EPA and regulatory agencies in Puerto Rico.
